Abdulkadir Omur- The Turkish Messi

With rumours flying around that Juraj Kucka has signed for Trabzonspor the top flight Turkish club have added another solid midfielder to their ranks which includes the likes of Okay Yosulou. However, there is one other talented midfielder on their books that we could be seeing more of in the near future. The person in question is 17-Year-Old Abdulkadir Omur who, Although he has had limited game time in the first team, has made a big impression to everyone has witnessed the player in action.

Omur first came into the pubilc eye when he was playing for Trabzonspor’s youth side in which he dominated to say the least. He bagged himself 41 goals for the youth side and was starting to be likened to Lionel Messi. Not only has Omur been a key figure for Trabzonspor’s youth side but he has also been a big star for Turkey’s youth sides as well. Abdulkadir Omur captained his nation in the 2015 U17 European Championship Qualification stages but unfortunately they fell at the first hurdles. However, he was also was a key figure in Turkey’s U16 Aegean Cup win in 2015.

Omur was given his first team debut for Trabzonspor in a Turkish cup game against Adanaspor on the 12 January 2016 when he was just 16 years old. Since then he has gone onto make just 6 appearances for the first team, managing to score just once in a Turkish cup game against Kizilcabolukspor on 22 December 2016. Unfortunately for Omur he has only made 1 League appearance which is so surprising considering not only how talented he is but how dominant he has been in the youth team which certainly warrants a good run in the first team.

The 17-Year-Old posses great close control with the ball, similarly to that of Lionel Messi. The player who stands at just 5’6 is very creative in the way that he plays and has great vision. He slots into the Number 10 role perfectly so he can be a great fit for many modern sides. Still so young Omur can only get better from here and that is a scary thought considering how talented he is. Its not a matter of how its more of when he will get his chance in the first team so we will have to wait and see when he gets it but im sure when his time comes he will be ready and the world will be watching a star in the making.
