Bong Kalo- Vanuatu’s Golden Boy

Oceania has never been a place where top talent has been produced but these times could change after the recent success of Oceanic teams in the U20 World cup which displayed lots of talents which clubs all around the world should be fighting it out to get their signatures. Once such player is Vanuatu’s star man Bong Kalo who was a star performer for his nation at the competition.

Bong Kalo turned heads when he and his fellow team mates exceeded expectations and did their nation proud. Kalo scored 3 goals for Vanuatu and was the sides top scorer which included a brace against a footballing giant in Germany. The 20-year-old received mass amounts of praise for his leadership and ability in a side that were expected to just roll over for ‘the big boys’. This positive performance from them and fellow Oceania competitors, New Zealand ultimately lead to clubs looking towards that corner of the globe for some potential talent and in Bong Kalo they have found just that.

Still only 20 years old, Bong Kalo currently plys his trade for Tafea FC in Vanuatu which is still only a semi professional team which makes you wonder after his performance at a World Cup how is he still only playing at this level? He most definitely wont be playing there for long as I am sure all manner of clubs around the world will be watching his and many other Oceania players much closer now to try and lure their services and talent to their club. With no reports coming out so far of Where Kalo will be playing next season we will just have to wait and see where he will go and he will most definitely fly the Vanuatu colours on his journey to the top.
