Alfredo Morelos- The Next Falcao

The Finnish Veikkausliiga may not be recognised as the most glamorous league in the world. However, it is a great place to go if you want to develop your career and be ready to take the step up into the big leagues. This scenario is very much the case for 20 year old Colombian talent, Alfredo Morleos who plays for Finnish giants HJK.

Morelos turned heads last year after a very impressive return of 30 goals in 43 games while on loan at HJK from Independiente Medellín. The former U20 International impressed so much that the club decided to break their club record transfer to sign him which is huge for a player who was a teenager at the time. The fee was said to be in the region of around £425k. Morelos is also a huge fan favourite at the Finnish club and to say the fans love him is a true understatement.

The Striker has been an integral part of the HJK team throughout his time there and it clearly shows. 43 goals in 52 games at just 20 years old is a sensational return and for someone who is so far away from home you have to give him so much credit. Morelos has been recognised by fans of the league for for his fantastic finishing ability and composure in the box and great composure is something you rarely see on young players in the professional game. His first season was that good for HJK that he was awarded the best player of the season award and to top it all off he was given the nickname ‘Goaltador’ for his goalscoring ability.

The Colombian has started the season off how he finished the last, by scoring goals. He has 7 goals in 9 games which includes 2 goals in his first 2 league games. So surely with his performances over the past 2 seasons there must be clubs lining up to sign him. With no disrespect to the Veikkausliiga, Coming from the league he is in now he would definitely be a huge bargain buy for many Top European clubs.
