Jamie Maclaren- The Aussie Bomber

With the A-League regular season at its final hurdle, the top 6 places are already secured however, the race for the golden boot is hotting up. With Bersart Berisha, who is set for A-League history with his next goal, and Aussie Talent Jamie Maclaren leading the pack with 18 goals after Maclaren recently bagged himself a hat-trick in a 5-1 win against Central Coast Mariners.

The former Blackburn Rovers youth product has been in top form this season for his side Brisbane Roar. 18 goals in just 22 starts is phenomenal return for the 23-year-old and surely warrants a call up the National team. Being the focal point of this Brisbane side since 2015 has seen them finish in the top 4 for 2 years running. Jamie Maclaren has made himself a fan favourite for not only his actions on the pitch but off it too. He regularly interacts with fans on twitter and even helped Brisbane fans get their memberships before the season began. To show this kind of love for his side just shows how much of a great character he is.

The former Scottish youth international has only made 2 senior appearances for the Australia national team but with his performances this season for Brisbane he more than definitely deserves another chance for the Socceroos and it will only be a matter of time before he scores for them too. With his contract, up at the end of the season clubs will be flocking in to snap up Maclaren and according to some reports over 80 clubs are rumoured to be interested in signing the young Aussie.

Maclaren is currently the 7th highest top scorer in the A-League with 49 goals which is incredible for someone so young so next season whether he stays in the A-League to increase that record or takes the next step to Europe remains to be seen but whatever he chooses one thing is for certain is that the young Aussie will continue to score goals.
