My 5- Current Favourite Players

To mark my 20th wordpress article I wanted to make it a more personal one. So i thought i would make a list of my 5 current favourite players from many different league from around the world. Depending on the feedback I receive from this article i may do more of these but on different subjects in football.

1.Andre Pierre Gignac

If you know me then this choice was a no brainer. Gignac has made a name for himself in France with clubs like Toulouse and Marseille where he had his best spells. A typical goal poacher, Gignac has been underrated his whole career and doesnt get enough credit of just how good he is and was. He has been a joy to watch throughout his career and although 2016 has not been the best of years for him what with his miss in the Euro final and his goal drought in the League with Tigres Gignac is still a legend of french football and is still my favourite player.

2.Florin Andone

Florin Andone has had a fantastic rise in his young career. The 23 year old has been attracting interest from Premier League clubs in his first year with Deportivo. The Romanian international has 5 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games which is a fantastic return in his first season in Spain’s top flight. Unlike Gignac his 2016 has been a huge success with his call up to Romania, playing in the Euros and getting his big move to La Liga. The Hardworking striker has been fantastic to watch the only way is up for this young talents career.

3.Mattia Destro

Destro is a player who has never quite met the expectations he had when he was much younger. The man who had interest from top Premier League clubs who were all looking to spend big bucks on the Italian is now Battling Relegation with Bologna. The Italian who is well known for his great finishing is a fantastic striker who however is quite inconsistent which is a problem for him but with great service around him he can be a real threat and would be a great asset to many top flight sides.

4.Artem Dzyuba

Artem Dzyuba is possibly one of the most underrated strikers in the world. The 6ft 5 striker who is flourishing with Russian Giants Zenit has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and rightly so. With great scoring ability, dribbling, a deadly threat in the air the Russian international should be on the top of many clubs shopping lists. Dzyuba has been in great form with Zenit scoring 8 goals and getting 4 assists in 14 league games and has been fantastic as ever to watch.

5.Nikos Karelis

Nikos Karelis or ‘The Greek Hulk’ as he is otherwise known is in the form of his life right now with Belgium side Genk. The striker has 17 goals in 20 starts and has become a fans favourite in his 2 years with Genk. The 24 year old has a thunderous left foot that could break a keepers arm in 2 pieces. He also has fantastic strength and pace which helps him get into great positions which he usually scores as he is a fantastic finisher. If the Greek isnt playing in a top European league in the next 2 years i will be very surprised as he is a brilliant footballer.
