Rogelio Funes Mori- El Delantero

As many of you probably know in the summer Everton signed 24 year old Argentinean Ramiro Funes Mori but what many of you probably didn’t know is that he has twin brother who plays for Mexican Side Monterrey who is taking the league by storm called Rogelio Funes Mori.

imageThe 24 year old started his professional career at River Plate, 3 years before his brother in 2009. He made his debut on 12th June 2009 against CA Velez in which he got a run out of 24 minutes in his sides 3-1 Away Defeat. During that season Rogelio would go onto score 5 goals in 19 games and getting 2 assists while managing to get his first Hat-trick just 14 Months into his Professional Career.image

Rogelio would go onto play 104 games, scoring 23 goals in his spell at River Plate in which he flourished over the 5 years he played there making a big name for himself which granted him a big time move to Benfica. During his time at Benfica he only got to play 4 times for the side scoring 0 goals and he was subsequently dropped to Benfica B where he tried to rekindle his River Plate Form and he did scoring 13 goals in 12 games.image

During his disappointing time at Benfica he requested a move away from the club to get much needed first team football in a big league. He was then loaned out to Turkish Super Lig side EskiŞehirspop. At his spell in Turkey he managed 14 goals in 36 games in which he was showing signs of his younger self yet again and at the end of his loan spell he got a £2.70m transfer to Liga MX side Monterrey.image

Now at Monterrey Funes Mori has really shown the world how good he really is. He has managed to score 19 goals in 28 games and getting 7 assists forming a formidable partnership with the likes of Edwin Cardona and Dorlan Pabon. In the Clausura 2016 (the closing season of 2015/16) he has managed 4 goals in 5 games and helping his side Monterrey to the top of the table winning 4 and losing 1 game so far.image

The the form he is in it would come to no surprise if some big name European clubs were interested in the 24 year old and it would be a good signing for any club he is not just a goalscorer he can provide so much to any side he can get assists aswell as he is not a selfish player. I tweeted in early January that Everton should have come in for the player to be reunited with his brother. Not only that he could easily adapt to the premier league with his strength, pace and ability to outwit the last defender to get into some great spaces to score. In due time i can see him making it back to the big leagues of Europe and scoring goals for fun if given the sufficient amount of playing time. Will he make it? We will just have to wait and see but there is no doubt in my mind that he cant do it. With interest aswell from both Liverpool and Manchester United this guy is a seriously hot prospect in the world of football and at the young age of 24 this guy has a big career ahed of him.image
